The scenario design competition challenged people to design the best Civ2 scenario possible covering the period leading up to World War I in Africa. The contest was sponsored by the Scenario League in partnership with the Apolyton Civilization Site's Civ2 Area and Allard & Andrew's Site. There were six entries in all.

This week the official winners will be announced for both the People's Choice Awards and the official award, judged by Andrew Hoekzema.

To summarize my thoughts on the contest, I was pleased that we got so many good entries. The competition was truly fierce, yet gentlemanly.

So, what are the prospects for future contests? We are soliciting ideas right now. There will definitely be a second contest. My suggestion is that the winner of the contest should be offered the honor of judging if the current judge is unwilling to repeat the job. I also suggest that the winner not be allowed to enter again for the official prize, but anything goes for the People's Choice.
